Hon. Sabrina Turner, MP

Minister of Health & Wellness, Cayman Islands Government, Hon. Sabrina Turner, MP, was elected to her first term in the Cayman Islands Parliament in April 2021 as a Member for Prospect. Mrs. Turner was sworn in as Minister on Wednesday, 21 April 2021.

Mrs. Turner attended Sir John A. Cumber Primary School, Cayman Islands Middle School and graduated from what was then called the Cayman Islands High School, class of 1990. In 1993 she graduated from the Cayman Islands School of Nursing as the Valedictorian.

A few years later she joined the Department of Immigration where she served in various roles such as Enforcement, Board Secretariat and Assistant Secretary of the Caymanian Status and Permanent Residency Board.

As an entrepreneur, Mrs. Turner became a successful business owner and CEO of her own immigration consulting company in 2006, Cayman Immigration Consultant Services. Her business provided sound advice to customers in a wide range of matters from applications for work permits, Trade and Business, Permanent Residency and Caymanian Status applications, to Notary Public Services.

For over a decade she was a very popular radio personality as host of Radio Cayman’s Business Buzz. Through this communication channel, she provided small businesses with the opportunity to showcase their products and services free of cost and market them to the community.

She has been active in a number of professional, civic, district and community organisations. She has served as Leadership Cayman Panellist, judge for the National Festival Parades, Trustee of the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce, Executive Committee member of the Pirates Week Committee, and was a team member on the Immigration Law Point System review project.

More recently, during her time as leader of the Prospect-Red Bay Community Group, she led the small executive team that worked to provide development and support services to the community of approximately three thousand. During her tenure, the group raised over $10,000 towards various projects focused on disaster resilience, the fight against crime and community cohesion.

Minister Turner grew up on Elgin Avenue in Central George Town. She enjoys working in the community and this has been from her childhood with her late mother, through the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her love for community work is shown in her effective leadership over the years. She truly enjoys dancing, cooking, lounging in a hammock and resides in Prospect with her spouse, Eric, and one of two sons.
