Rev. Dr. Yvette Noble-Bloomfield is the Deputy General Secretary for The United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands & Cayman Islands Regional Mission Council and Guidance Counsellor for the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority. As a Minister of Religion, ordained for thirty-nine (39) years, the call to the Ministry of the Word and Sacrament remains her focus, attention and commitment within the dynamism of the change and renewal taking place within the society and the church.
Having served in congregational pastoral ministry for twenty-five(25) years, as the Director for the Bethesda Counselling Centre for over four(4) years and serving in church administration for ten (10) years, Dr. Noble-Bloomfield has a clear understanding of and appreciation for the needs and challenges of humanity, the ministry and mission of the Church and the importance of cultivating healing and restorative relationships in order to enhance the well-being of individuals.
The vast experiences gained from preaching and sacramental ministry, pastoral care and counselling, and chaplaincy, have continued to formulate her vocational understanding and undergird the sense of call to serve others, especially at the deepest point of their needs especially at the intersection of pain and faith and to provide hope and comfort when it is most needed. This quest to serve the sick formed the core of the doctorial thesis completed in the Doctor of Ministry Degree program at the Columbia Theological Seminary in 2001. There is a commitment to personal learning, development and the facilitating of others in this process to discover what is new and emerging in research regarding the correlation between spirituality and healing. With much prayer, spiritual discernment, a sense of God’s grace and the leading of the Holy Spirit, Dr. Noble-Bloomfield strives to be faithful, disciplined and competent, in order to respond to the current challenges individuals and the society encounter in the area of health care and healing.
