Dr Courtney Cummings is currently the Deputy Medical Director and previously the Acting Medical Director at the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (HSA).
He is a Consultant Physician who during the period 1994 to 1995 was an Associate Lecturer in medicine at the American University of the Caribbean in Montserrat. During that period, he was a member of the Technical Advisory Subcommittee that wrote the 4th Regional Formulary and Therapeutics Manual of the Organization of the Eastern Caribbean States.
Dr Cummings along with private and public sector colleagues has co-authored journal publications on rheumatology and HIV patients in Cayman Islands. He is the Coordinator of Continuing Medical Education for the HSA.
In addition to clinical consultancy duties, he is an active member of several hospital clinical committees including the Stroke Protocol Committee of which he is Chairperson, the Board clinical subcommittee, the Clinical Practice Review and Antimicrobial Stewardship Committees.
